Overview of the region |

|
Quinta dos Barreiros is situated in the clientele of Coriscada in the council of Męda, district of Guarda in a zone of shale and grauvaques above 500 meters of altitude. |

There were also found roman vestigies which are being explored in the clientele of Coriscada in the excavations of Vale de Mouro/Gravato in which there are referals to the wine of this region, being found also a covered lagar. |

Adding to the natural beauty that is offered by this inhospitable and once upon a time so well populated region of the country, subsist still of the most beautiful medieval villages of Portugal, as is the case of Marialva. |

The ancient and fortified town of Trancoso also offers great cenic beauty through its medieval landscapes. |
||||

A little more to North is the castle of Longroiva, first home of the Knights Templars in Portugal. Also in Longroiva is possible to enjoy the thermal waters (which is an attraction since the time s of the roman empire) that are focus of it's appeal since several centuries ago. |
